Why Having a Recruitment License Matters

TerraHR Consulting Holds a Valid Recruiting License

At TerraHR Consulting, we are proud to announce that we hold a valid recruiting license, ensuring our commitment to ethical and legal recruitment practices.

What is the License?

As of July 1, under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), recruiters in Ontario are required to hold a license to operate. According to the Government of Ontario’s website, “Recruiters are required to hold a license to act as a recruiter. Employers, prospective employers, and other recruiters are prohibited from knowingly engaging or using the services of any recruiter that does not hold a license.”

Why Do We Need It?

Holding a recruitment license helps ensure that everyone involved in the hiring process is treated fairly. “It is essential for employers to partner with licensed recruiters who adhere to the Employment Standards Act and the Employment Protection for Foreign Nationals Act when overseeing recruitment processes. This ensures a fair and lawful approach to hiring the best talent for the organization’s success,” says Ana Palomino, President & Founder of TerraHR.

Commitment to Integrity and Best Practices

At TerraHR, we uphold a high level of integrity and are committed to conducting business according to industry best practices and our core values. Our recruitment license allows us to comply with local laws and regulations, helping us avoid legal issues and penalties.

Trusted and Credible Partner

We are your trusted and credible recruitment partner. Our clients and candidates can rely on TerraHR’s recruitment services, knowing that we meet regulatory standards. Holding a license also allows us access to employers and job boards that only work with licensed recruiters and agencies, offering our candidates exclusive job listings and partnerships with reputable employers who follow industry best practices.

Pride in Ethical Practices and Service Quality

At TerraHR Consulting, we take pride in our ethical practices and service quality. Meeting these standards ensures higher client and candidate satisfaction, setting us apart in the market.

Why Should You Use a Licensed Recruiter?

Using a licensed recruiter ensures that everyone involved in the recruitment process is treated fairly. Employers can avoid recruitment issues and fines by partnering with licensed recruiters. It is crucial for all employers to verify that their chosen recruiter has obtained the proper license.

What if You Do Not Use a Licensed Recruiter?

Practicing without a license as a recruiter can result in hefty fines. Clients knowingly engaging with an unlicensed recruiter can also be fined. According to the Government of Ontario’s website, the fines include $15,000 for a first contravention, $25,000 for a second in a three-year period, and $50,000 for a third in a three-year period.
